The Hands-on Trades Protection Plan was created in 2000. It became the Hands-On Trade Association in 2007. Robert and I wanted to provide affordable insurance with benefits that therapists would need in school and after graduation. We knew that students were spending money on school, a massage table, equipment, and getting their business built up, so we wanted to keep the insurance low.

We wanted the plan to be a different option for therapists that was not politically motivated. Robert and I just wanted to create one more important business involving massage, bodywork, cosmetology, estheticians, and nail services to help therapists do what they do best, touch people for health.
