The CranioCradle Story

By: Barb Richmond, CEO; CranioCradle/Kiss Life, LLC

Barb Richmond, developer of the CranioCradle and the CEO of Kiss Life, is dedicated to fulfilling Kiss Life’s vision and mission statements. She passionately believes in and supports the efficacy of hands-on therapy as a natural, beneficial and viable treatment option.

Her early career path focused on marketing and business development in the healthcare field, which eventually landed her at The Upledger Institute (UI) where she worked for almost 10 years. At UI, Barb fell in love with CranioSacral Therapy and the wonderful community of massage and light touch therapists. After she left UI in November 2008, she wanted to create something new, something uniquely wonderful and helpful – a natural, non-invasive pain-relief product, based on touch therapy. This desire led her to develop the CranioCradle.

I created the CranioCradle therapy product because of my passion, respect and belief in the benefits of manual therapies. I took elements and techniques of osteopathy, massage and CranioSacral Therapy and employed them in the CranioCradle. Using it, therapists and their clients have a gentle, comfortable and effective way to rest away stress, anxiety and muscle pain. Designed to feel as much like human hands under the body as possible, the CranioCradle quickly releases tight tense muscles and the pain and tension associated with them. It promotes profound deep relaxation.

Therapists are discovering they can use the CranioCradle as a self-help therapy tool and as an extra set of hands in the therapy session. Clients are also appreciating having a pain-relieving tool to use at home. With 3 applications under the head and neck, 3 at the low back and Trigger Point Release, the CranioCradle helps relieve anxiety, stress, insomnia, whiplash, headache, Tinnitus, TMJ, neck, shoulder and mid to low back pain.

Profits from the CranioCradle will provide treatments for those who cannot otherwise afford them and provide donations to research and education regarding the efficacy of therapeutic touch. In the first year of business, donations were made to The Touch Research Institute, The Massage Therapy Foundation and The Shiners Children's Hospital. These donations were a part of Sanctuary, a Massage Warehouse charitable event.

Fine-tuned, tested, and therapist approved, the CranioCradle comfortably, effectively and naturally relieves pain and dysfunction in the body. To learn more, visit www.craniocradle.com.
